Politics (and Media) makes strange bedfellows…

Good job, politicians.  Well done.  Bravo.  Oh, and not to be topped, well done to you, too, news media.

Is that what you want to hear??

Let us combine narcissism and a 24 hour news cycle and VOILA, welcome to the $#!+ show.  (This excludes local news outlets, as they do not have endless hours to fill a $#!+show.  Well done to them😊 and much appreciation for reporting the facts… just the facts, m’am)

When did being a “servant of the people” trump (pardon the pun) what is best for the people?  I see you, politicians.  I hear you.  I only wish I could believe you.

And to you, 24-hour-news-outlets with endless hours to “fill,” I hear you.

I do not like what I see and I surely do not like what I hear.  So, thanks for that.  You are shaping a generation of conflict.

Gone are the days of “trusted media outlets” and “we the people.”  Politicians get elected on platforms rarely met and are backed by media reports of radicalized behavior more often than reporting good news.  While I cannot speak for all American citizens, I do believe that the majority shares this opinion:  WE ARE OVER IT.

Will we ever hear “when I grow up, I want to be President” from the mouths of children?  Will they still choose police uniforms as Halloween costumes and envision themselves dressed the same as grown-ups?   Will they grow in belief of all that they see on the television?  STOP the brainwashing of our youth.  STOP the nasty rhetoric which gives permission for kids to be nasty, too.  Shame on y’all.

Unity is preached, but not practiced.  “One nation, under God” seems to be a thing of the past.  God does not condone your behavior.  Contrary to what we see and hear, we are not the judgement.  Riots and protests make way for more riots and protests.  The “rights” that we are given have evolved into “my way is right.”  Newsflash:  Only Gods way is RIGHT.

The scripture tells us to “love thy neighbor.”  Trust me, I know that is hard sometimes.  I am not living in a glass house, throwing stones.  I am opinionated and feisty.  But, I am also prayerful and humble in trying to behave the way the He intended.  I fail.  I succeed.  I am human.  My way is not always the right way.  Can you speak the same words?

I have been verbally attacked over Facebook for my opinions and beliefs.  I have been portrayed in a manner by people who do not even know me.  I have been called a racist by people who do not see things the way I do.  I have watched videos of children wearing hatred in their eyes while protesting with their parents.  It does not take a long search to find violence in “peaceful” protests.  I know that one bad apple does not spoil the whole bunch; I realize that the apple was also the forbidden fruit.

I have also LEARNED a ton.  I have seen myself grow.  I have found enlightening by simply asking people to explain their point of view.  (I am stubborn, y’all, so this is a big deal).  I have humbled myself at the feet of the Lord to gain insight into those perspectives in which I do not agree.

Can you say the same?  Are your heels so dug in that you cannot see the earth around you?  Are you so tunnel visioned in your beliefs that you do not see the children watching you?   Do you preach peace and acceptance in one breath while violently attacking your opposer in the other??

WHAT THE ACTUAL =^@%?!?!?!

Be OKAY with disagreeing.  Be OKAY with differing opinions. Be KIND. PRACTICE what you preach. Report the facts, not the opinions.  Do not preach humanity while attacking it.

We are not robots; we cannot be programmed.  We are made to feel, to live, and we are made for kindness.  We are not made for violence, verbal or physical.

Believe in the Lord, above all else.

It seems “agreeing to disagree” is a thing of the past.  Let us bring it back, people.  Like bell bottoms, the scrunchie, and Friends… bring it back….

Let us not be hypnotized into believing all that is reported.  Let us look to the Lord for forgiveness.  Let us humbly believe in our brothers and sisters.  And, for the love of God, use your manners.

The kids are watching.  Are you teaching them to stray?

Black and White… Gay and Straight… Women and Men… Republican and Democrat… we are all people.  We are THE people.  We are HIS people.

Turn off the news.  Talk to your children. Teach them that their way is not the only way.  Reach out to those whom you disagree with.  Be civilized.  We are brothers and sisters in Christ.

As the old song of Jesus goes “Red and Yellow, Black and White, they are precious in His sight… Jesus loves the little children of the world.”  I will await opinions of that song being “racist” or not “politically correct, but I will not stop singing it; and that needs to be okay.

We all have starting points.  We all evolve out of childhood into adulthood knowing only what we have known.  Think about that.  Reflect on your youth, the adults around you, and the influences which shaped your adult mindsets.  Take forward what you wish; and leave behind what you do not.  Never use the past as a crutch for who you are as a grown @$$ person.

Hate breeds hate.  We are not made for hate in the eyes of our Lord.  We are meant for goodness.  So, be good for goodness sake (it is almost December, right??).

1 John 4:11

Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Matthew 22:37-39

Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as thyself.’”

Proverbs 15:1

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
